The Mahdi’s Spiritual Army in This World

Hindi Hub Articles

When Allah’s help and victory have arrived and you have seen people entering Allah’s religion in droves, then glorify your Lord’s praise and ask His forgiveness. He is the Ever-Returning. (Surat an-Nasr, 1-3)

Through the verses of the Qur’an, our Almighty Lord has imparted the glad tidings that He will place Islam above all other faiths and cause the moral values of the Qur’an to prevail over the world. In the Hadith, the Prophet (saas) tells us that Allah will bring about this welcome event through the efforts of the Mahdi. The Messenger of Allah (saas) has reported that the Mahdi, the spiritual leader of Muslims at this time, will perform a great service for the good of all mankind and Islam, and will carry out very important activities.

By Allah’s leave, the Mahdi—likened to the Prophet (saas) in terms of his excellent moral virtues—will restore to its essential nature the faith, which has been distorted from its true essence through various superstitious beliefs and false practices. Together with the Prophet ‘Isa (as), he will cause Islam, the one true faith, to prevail on Earth. According to the information contained in the Hadith, the Mahdi will make sincere efforts, to ensure mankind’s salvation in this world and in the Hereafter. And thanks to him, peace, plenty and abundance will be found on Earth.

According to the tawatur (completely trustworthy) Hadith, the long-awaited coming of the Mahdi will be one of the most important events in the Islamic world. The entire Muslim world is hoping for—and enthusiastically awaiting—the renewal of Islamic civilization and the moral values of the Qur’an to prevail on Earth, through this blessed personage.

Likened to the Prophet (saas) in terms of his excellent moral virtues, the Mahdi–according to the information contained in the Hadith–will make sincere efforts to ensure mankind’s salvation in this world and in the Hereafter, and will be a means for peace, plenty and abundance on Earth.

In the Hadith of the Prophet (saas), it is also reported that as the Mahdi performs this honorable and superior task, the number of those around him will be very small. Yet despite their being so few in number, the moral values of Islam will, by Allah’s leave, come to prevail across the entire globe. This is, of course, a miracle of Allah’s. In the Qur’an, he tells us that, “Allah reinforces with His help whoever He wills. There is instruction in that for people of insight” (Surah Al ‘Imran, 13).

Allah desires Islamic virtues to prevail on Earth, and He has the power to bring this about in the manner of His choosing. Indeed, events taking place in our own day herald the fact that, by Allah’s leave, this time is close at hand.

All Activities Around the Globe Serve the Mahdi and the Dominion of Islamic Moral Values

As reported in the Hadith of the Prophet (saas), the Mahdi will have around him a group of supporters and helpmates that, as stated above, will be comparatively small in number. But, by Allah’s will, anyone who tries to assist in the development of Islam and the spreading of Qur’anic moral values will, knowingly or otherwise, be serving the Mahdi.

For that reason, every activity on Earth is actually a service rendered to the Mahdi. Everyone who writes books or articles, publishes newspapers or magazines, or arranges conferences to that end is, wittingly or unwittingly, assisting and supporting the Mahdi, in preparing for the dominion of Islamic moral values under his leadership.

No doubt that this is a promise and assistance from Allah to His true servants. Nothing can obstruct the will of Allah. He wills Islamic moral values to be installed over the world, and by His leave, this promise will come about. It is reported in the Qur’an that by Allah’s will, the faithful will be victorious:

We supported them, and so they were the victors. (Surat as-Saffat, 116)

Allah wills Islamic virtues to prevail on Earth, and has the power to bring this about in the manner of His choosing.

All Activities Carried out against the Mahdi in fact serve his Coming and his Mission

This century is a glad epoch when signs of the End Times are coming about, one by one, and the whole Muslim world is in a state of expectancy. The second coming of Prophet ‘Isa (as)—who, as indicated in the verses of the Qur’an, did not die and will return to Earth again, as is described in great detail in the Hadith—is awaited with great excitement. In the same way, the appearance of the Mahdi, whose name, qualities and activities are all set out in detail in tawatur Hadith of the Prophet (saas), is another event awaited by the entire Islamic world.

Some of the Hadith referring to the second coming of Prophet ‘Isa (as) and the appearance of the Mahdi read as follows:

By Him in Whose Hands my soul is, son of Maryam [‘Isa] will shortly descend amongst you people as a just ruler. (Sahih al-Bukhari)

‘Isa (as), son of Maryam, will come down as a just judge [ruler] and imam for his nation. . . . (Al-Tabari, Al-Awsat, Hadith no. 4577, 5:292.)

[The Day of Judgment] will not come until you see ten signs . . . [one of which is] the descent of ‘Isa son of Maryam . . . . (Sahih Muslim)

Abu Dawud reported a Hadith from Abd Allah ibn Masud: The Prophet said, If there were only one day left for the world, that day would be lengthened until a man from among my descendants or from among the people of my household, was sent; . . . He will fill the earth with justice and fairness, just as it will have been filled with injustice and oppression. (Abu Dawud)

. . . From Abu Hurairah, the Prophet said, “If there were only one day left for this world, Allah would lengthen it until he [the Mahdi] took power.” (at-Tirmidhi)

All the Ahlul Sunnah scholars are in agreement about these glad tidings in the Hadith. Among eminent Islamic scholars, there is no difference of opinion at all about the coming of these blessed individuals who will cause Islamic virtues as imparted by the Prophet (saas) to prevail on Earth. Therefore, the coming of Prophet ‘Isa (as) and the Mahdi is too certain a matter to be concealed or misinterpreted.
Even so, some may still harbor doubts about the second coming of Prophet ‘Isa (as) and the appearance of the Mahdi—which doubt is a most serious error. The important fact to realize is this: Even if people do hold such views, this is actually nothing more than another sign of the appearance of the Mahdi. The position of such people is a clear indication of the imminence of the Mahdi’s coming.

These glad tidings are imparted thus in the Hadith of the Prophet (saas):

Allah Almighty will send the Mahdi after despair has reached the point that people will say, “There is no Mahdi.”

(Nu’aym ibn Hammad)

The Mahdi will appear with the standard of the Messenger of Allah (saas), when people encounter one trouble after another and when all hope for his emergence is lost . . .

(Al-Muttaqi al-Hindi, Al-Burhan fi Alamat al-Mahdi Akhir al-zaman, p. 55)

The Mahdi is an individual whose tidings have been imparted and who is enthusiastically awaited by the faithful. It is the duty of every Muslim to await and spread the good news of his coming.

In the Qur’an, too, Allah has revealed that some may doubt that He will send a messenger to lead the faithful. As an example, he cites those who said that there would be no prophet after Prophet Yusuf (as):

Yusuf brought you the clear signs before, but you never stopped doubting what he brought to you to the extent that when he died, you said, “Allah will never send another messenger after him.” That is how Allah misguides those who are unbridled and full of doubt. (Surah Ghafir, 34)

In the light of tawatur (trustworthy) Hadith, the Mahdi’s long-awaited coming is one of the most important events in the Islamic world.

In the Qur’an, our Lord has promised that He will cause Islamic values to prevail over the world and will bestow power and authority on His faithful servants. He tells us that this promise is a certain one. The Hadith of the Prophet (saas) and the words of all the great Islamic scholars state that Prophet ‘Isa (as) and the Mahdi will be instrumental in this taking place. In the light of this absolute promise of Allah’s, Islamic moral values will come to rule, and an individual will assume leadership of Muslims.

For a long time now, Muslims have had no such leader to bring them all together. By Allah’s leave, this first leader—the tidings of whom have been reported for 1,400 years—will be the Mahdi. He will eliminate oppression and darkness and be a means whereby the beauty of Islamic virtues is experienced by all the world.

As this concluding time approaches, all the events taking place, be they great or small, will play important roles in the coming about of this destiny determined by Allah. Knowingly or unknowingly, willingly or not, people’s every action will help in this outcome being attained. All efforts and propaganda expended against its happening will be just as effective as work carried out to further the appearance, recognition and service of the Mahdi. Every action taken in opposition to the Mahdi will further increase his effectiveness and contribute to his activities being echoed around the world.

Those who maintain that Prophet ‘Isa (as) and the Mahdi will not appear, those who say “I do not believe in the second coming of Prophet ‘Isa (as) and the Mahdi,” will, through their very words and deeds, again draw attention to those two blessed individuals and, by serving them thus unwittingly, become a means whereby others can reflect on these important tidings. In that sense, therefore, to say “Prophet ‘Isa (as) will not come” is the same as saying “Prophet ‘Isa (as) will come”! Similarly, saying “The Mahdi will not come” actually means “The Mahdi will.” Anyone who says “I stand opposed to the Mahdi” will encourage , further curiosity, interest in and discussion about the Mahdi. By Allah’s leave, deniers and hypocrites, those who adopt ideas opposed to Qur’anic moral values, and the enemies of Prophet ‘Isa (as) and the Mahdi greatly assist—albeit unwillingly and unknowingly—in these glad tidings being disseminated and in Islamic virtues spreading across the world.

Even if some are reluctant, Allah’s promise will become reality; He will cause Islamic moral values to prevail on Earth, and will bestow the virtues of the faith through one who will become the spiritual leader of all Muslims.

It must not be forgotten that Allah’s promise is the truth. Even if some prove reluctant, Allah’s promise will be fulfilled: He will cause Islamic moral values to prevail on Earth, and will bestow the virtues of the faith through one who will become the spiritual leader of all Muslims. By the will of Allah, these are all events that cannot be prevented; they have already taken place in destiny. And our Almighty Lord has turned all the propaganda and measures taken against Prophet ‘Isa (as) and the Mahdi into means by which this blessed outcome will be achieved, and has placed even those opposed to the Mahdi at his service.

To believers, Allah reveals this state of affairs in the Qur’an:

It is He Who sent His messenger with guidance and the religion of truth [Islam] to exalt it over every other religion, even though the idolaters detest it. (Surat at-Tawba, 33)

They desire to extinguish Allah’s Light with their mouths, but Allah will perfect His Light, though the unbelievers **** it. It is He Who sent His messenger with guidance and the religion of truth [Islam] to exalt it over every other religion, though the idolaters **** it. (Surat as-Saff, 8-9)

Even if some are reluctant, Allah’s promise will become reality; He will cause Islamic moral values to prevail on Earth, and will bestow the virtues of the faith through one who will become the spiritual leader of all Muslims.

The Power of the Mahdi’s Faith will Spread a Spiritual Awakening Across the World

As already mentioned, those who surround and support the Mahdi will be few in number. But the light of the Mahdi’s system has illumined the whole world. Without being aware of it, the whole world will abide by the logic and perspective of the Mahdi’s message and will come to be influenced by the fervor of his faith. Spiritual excitement and the tendency towards faith will spread from the Mahdi to his disciples, and from them to others around them, and thus throughout the whole world. One person will read a book, listen to a talk or see a film; increase in spiritual fervor as a result, and then tell someone else of what he’s learned.

And that person will tell others. There will be a chain reaction, increasing spiritual fervor, and influence will spread over the entire world, reaching even Jews and Christians. As a result, a huge spiritual awakening will take place all over the Earth.

The world will not know the origin of this spiritual excitement; those opposed to faith will be unaware that this fervor originates from the system of the Mahdi. But in fact, this is one of the most important signs of the Mahdi and his order.

The brightness of the system of the Mahdi has fallen over the whole world. Without being aware of it, everyone will abide by the logic and perspective communicated by the message of the Mahdi and will come to be influenced by the fervor of his faith. This is one of the most important signs of the Mahdi.

Islamic scholars have stated that this spiritual fervor, spreading in waves across the world, will stem from the Mahdi’s attributes of being “Qutb al-Irshad” and “Qutb al-Aqtab.” Qutb al-Irshad is one who provides a means for the world to awaken from heedlessness, who leads it to guidance and the true path, and who is the true heir of the Prophet (saas)—a great individual who inherits his knowledge and manners, his task of purifying souls by means of light, his work of turning hearts towards Allah, and his art of taming lower selves and giving balance to life. The Qutb al-Aqtab is one who brings order to the world, a means whereby people discover the true path through the greatest mentor of their time:

. . . Indeed, [Qutb al-Madar] always exists, and it also exists in our day. It had also existed in the time of the Prophet (saas). Such people are also called Qutb al-Aqtab. However, they need seclusion. No one knows them. Furthermore, sometimes, they even do not know themselves. The duty of protecting Islam is granted to that blessed person called Qutb al-Irshad. Guidance and faith is granted to everyone through . . . that person, who protects Islam, so it does not remain vulnerable. The enemies of the religion cannot dare to demolish or change it.

In the Thirty-fifth Marifat of his book [Ma'arif-i Ladunniyya], Imam Rabbani says: Qutb al-Abdal, that is, Qutb al-Madar [the one who becomes the means], becomes a means of prosperity for everything in the universe and the world to exist and to remain in existence. Qutb al-Irshad, on the other hand, becomes a means for prosperity to be granted for the guidance of the universe. Creation of everything, grant of blessings, removal of trouble and ills, recovery of the sick, well-being of the people are possible through the prosperity of the Qutb al-Abdal. Having faith, being guided to the true path, being able to engage in worship, asking for repentance, on the other hand, become possible through the prosperity of the Qutb al-Irshad. The existence of Qutb al-Abdal is essential in every time and age. Its absence is unthinkable, for the universe orders itself thanks to its existence.

. . . Through the Qutb al-Irshad, all people are granted faith and guidance. (Tam Ilmihal, Saadet-i Ebeddiyye ["The Complete Laws of Islam, Eternal Happiness"], Hakikat Publishing, 93rd Edition, Prepared by: Huseyin Hilmi Isik, p. 909.)

In the second letter in his Mabda’ wa Maad, Imam Rabbani describes the matter under the heading “The Prosperity of the Qutb al-Irshad”:

A qutb al-irshad who possesses inherent personal excellence exists very rarely. Such great virtue comes only after several ages. The dark universe becomes bright with the light of his coming. His luminous guidance surrounds the entire universe. Whoever receives the true path through his means, takes benefit from it—guidance, faith and knowledge, from the heights of the Divine Might to the midst of the Earth. Without his mediation, no one can reach this blessing. His guiding light surrounds the entire universe like an ocean. And as if frozen, this ocean never moves. In one who is sincerely drawn toward this great person, the heart opens at the very moment of this inclination. Through this means, one feels fulfilled with his sincerity and love, his heart filling with prosperity. A person who gives himself to keep in mind remembrance of Allah and fails to tend to this individual—not out of denial, but from ignorance of his existence—also benefits from this prosperity. In the first case, however, the prosperity is greater than in the latter.

. . . Even if they remain distant from remembering Allah and turning to Him, for those who turn to that great person and love him sincerely, the light of guidance reaches them, merely on account of their love. May peace be upon those who are subject to guidance. (Mabda’ wa Maad, Sufi Books, Istanbul, October 2005, pp. 23-24.)

Today, waves of people are turning to faith in Allah.

In our own time, a great many developments are taking place day by day to show that great spiritual awakening, prosperity and excitement are increasing across the entire world. As revealed by Allah in the verse, “and you have seen people entering Allah’s religion in droves” (Surat an-Nasr, 2), droves of people are turning to faith in Allah.

Many examples reveal this state of affairs. For example, in the 15 August, 2006, edition of the British daily The Guardian, an article titled “How Did We Get Here?” noted that an astonishing 30% of students in the UK did not believe in evolution, and that this level had been much lower in the past. “Evolution,” it concluded, “is on the way out.”

As reported in Science magazine, according to research conducted from the year 1985 to 2004 in 34 countries by Michigan State University in the USA, Turkey has become the only country in which the overwhelming majority believe that the theory of evolution is invalid.

A report on the American website www.pitch.com quoted the evolutionist professor Umit Sayin as saying, “There is no fight against the creationists now. They have won the war. . . In 1998, I was able to motivate six members of the Turkish Academy of Sciences to speak out against the creationist movement. Today, it’s impossible to motivate anyone.” The report went on to describe Turkey as a country in which adherents of the theory of evolution had been almost entirely routed.

Even a few of these developments clearly reveal the effects of this spiritual strength spreading across the world. Most remain unaware of the source of this spiritual awakening and of the effect it is having on the world. Yet this spiritual resurrection is one of the clearest signs that the Mahdi’s appearance is close at hand—because this spiritual fervor originates from the radiant powerful faith, prosperity and abundance of the Mahdi.

But as we know, one of the great signs of the Mahdi is the way that this blessed personage will not claim to be the Mahdi, because there is no need for the Mahdi to make himself known. Since his destiny has entrusted him this duty, Allah will let him become known to people through his global impact, the light of his faith and his fervor.

Our Almighty Lord revealed the moral virtues of the Mahdi, his physical characteristics, his actions, service and global impact to our Prophet (saas), 1,400 years ago. In the same way that it is impossible to imitate these features or to acquire them through one’s own efforts, so by Allah’s leave, it is impossible to obstruct or neutralize his work. Allah has placed the whole world at the service of the Mahdi. All who work for him or against him, whether willingly or not, knowingly or unknowingly, are actually helping the Mahdi attain this outcome appointed by Allah and is contributing to the glorious destined rise of Islamic moral values. In that sense, therefore, it is impossible to engage in any activity against the Mahdi, since Allah converts every development working against him into one working in the Mahdi’s favor.

Very soon, Prophet ‘Isa (as) and the Mahdi will appear in the manner appointed in their destinies. And by Allah’s leave, they will cause Islamic moral values to prevail across the world.

Prophet ‘Isa (as) and the Mahdi will very soon appear in their appointed destinies and, as reported by the Prophet (saas), will discharge all their duties and, by Allah’s leave, cause Islamic moral values to prevail across the world. This is the destiny appointed by Allah.

The Qur’an tells us that no matter how unwilling unbelievers may be, Allah will preserve His influence:

They desire to extinguish Allah’s Light with their mouths. But Allah refuses to do other than perfect His Light, even though the unbelievers detest it. (Surat at-Tawba, 32)

It is He Who sent His messenger with guidance and the religion of truth [Islam] to exalt it over every other religion, even though the idolaters detest it. (Surat at-Tawba, 33)

Allah confirms the truth by His words, even though the evildoers **** it. (Surah Yunus, 82)

The New Sciences of Religion: Exploring Spirituality from the Outside In and Bottom UpThe New Sciences of Religion: Exploring Spirituality from the Outside In and Bottom Up

The New Sciences of Religion is a critical analysis of new scientific research on religious and spiritual phenomena. William Grassie takes a two-staged phenomenological approach working from the “outside in” and the “bottom up” without privileging at the outset any religious traditions or philosophical assumptions. Using insights from economics, evolutionary psychology, the neurosciences, and medicine, Grassie develops a complex and multifaceted understanding of religion as potentially functional and dysfunctional in specific contexts, differentially so for individuals and groups. The New Sciences of Religion then asks what in religion and spirituality might also be true and profound when our received traditions are reinterpreted in light of contemporary sciences. In contrast to the New Atheists, Grassie argues for a concept of God-by-whatever-name that is fully compatible with contemporary science and the reinterpretation of traditional religions. In the end, there is no grand unified theory of religion and none of the many scientific explanations of religion preclude that religions have intuited, experienced, and discovered true and profound insights into the nature of ultimate reality and human existence. This is an original and compelling scientific interpretation of religion and also a religious interpretation of science that will challenge and delight students and scholars alike.

Revolt! The Next Great Transformation from Kleptocracy Capitalism to Libertarian Socialism through Counter Ideology, Societal Education, & Direct ActionRevolt! The Next Great Transformation from Kleptocracy Capitalism to Libertarian Socialism through Counter Ideology, Societal Education, & Direct ActionChampioning counter ideology, societal education, and direct action professor Asimakopoulos develops a theory to action model for working class movement building toward societies based on self-organization and self-direction. Revolt! begins with an analysis of the 2008 economic collapse showing how neoliberal globalization is intensifying capitalism's contradictions resulting in perpetual crises affecting workers. By looking at the labor and civil rights movements it then demonstrates meaningful working class gains were obtained through high levels of class conflict made possible by radical leaders and ideology, class-consciousness and solidarity through societal education, and even rebellion. Now, argues professor Asimakopoulos, social justice can only be achieved through a new movement which, short of the immediate overthrow of capitalism, can obtain with direct action specific working class victories that will set in motion evolutionary radical change. One strategic proposal is demanding corporate boards of directors only include community and labor representatives. Revolt! will be of most interest to workers, activists, college students, and scholars, as well as anyone interested in the practical side of radical anarchism, Marxism, and social movements.

Race and Class Matters at an Elite CollegeRace and Class Matters at an Elite College

In Race and Class Matters at an Elite College, Elizabeth Aries provides a rare glimpse into the challenges faced by black and white college students from widely different class backgrounds as they come to live together as freshmen. Based on an intensive study Aries conducted with 58 students at Amherst College during the 2005-2006 academic year, this book offers a uniquely personal look at the day-to-day thoughts and feelings of students as they experience racial and economic diversity firsthand, some for the first time.

Through online questionnaires and face-to-face interviews, Aries followed four groups of students throughout their first year of college: affluent whites, affluent blacks, less financially advantaged whites from families with more limited education, and less financially advantaged blacks from the same background. Drawing heavily on the voices of these freshmen, Aries chronicles what they learned from racial and class diversity—and what colleges might do to help their students learn more.

Interview With Actress Deepali-

Interview with actress Deepali-

Budding actress-dancer-performer, Deepali, took time off her busy schoot, during the  making of the Bhojpuri film – Raksha Bandha,  made under the banner of Laila productions, which was being shot at Raj Pipal to give us an insight into her gradually rising career, both as a leading actress of both the Bhojpuri films then and now also as a lead actress of the Hindi and Marathi films too. A trained Bharat Natyam dancer, this  talented dancing sensation, is an MA in fine arts from the prestigious Nalanda University. She also had a stint in learning western dance steps, a-la the bollywood way, under the watchful eyes of renowned Bollywood dance choreographer  – Vijay Oscar, for some time . After, getting accolades from dance enthusiasts across the globe in her many performances abroad,  Deepali is now making her presence felt as an actress of repute, both in the in Bhojpuri , Marathi genres of film-making, besides the much sought after  Hindi  films. What captured us more about this new entrant to Bollywood was her simplicity in real-life alike her reel-life performances, along with her more focused  seasoned and professional approach to her rising film career. Here’s a tete-a-tete with Deepali as she talks toVikram Singh Chadha

How and when, did you first  venture in films?

I had never given a serious thought to acting, though I made a foray into dance , quite early on in life,  at a very young age of three. Dance, has been and is my first love, so-to-say. As of acting, as a career choice, it happened only in 1999,  when after receiving many persisting offers for  both TV and films,  I eventually gave it a nod by accepting a few TV offers initially. Films, happened only with Udit Narayan’s Bhojpuri film, Kab Hoi Gawna Hamar  ,- a film shot extensively in Mauritius. I was cast opposite Ravi Kishen in the film. My very second Bhopuri film was Satla Ta Gaila, opposite singer-actor, Guddu Rangila. Tufail Ahmed’s- Raksha Bandhan,  happens incidently to be my  my third Bhojpuri film.

What were the various challenges before you during the making of your film– Raksha Bandhan?

My character is  of a strongly etched  character of the lead heroine in the film, who happens to be the dear daughter of the main villain of this film. Her character is made a scape goat of sorts, as she is shown been emotionally divided between a family feud involving her father and  her sister-in-law.  The tensions in the family, bring out  emotional outburst of sorts, in her often, requiring her to display her screen histrionics on given occasions to give justice to the role been potrayed.  I thoroughly enjoyed my onscreen struggles, which partly was lessened thanks to the beautiful and talented production team and also watchful eyes and guidance of the film director – Tufail Ahmed.

Besides Raksha Bandhan, which are your other Bhojpuri assigments ?

I am currently working on, for Tyagi Ji’s- next project – Ghar Aaja Pardesi, which is being made on the lines of Ghar Aaja Pardesi. My character, in the film, span’s the era from his youth till old age. Govind Khatri, plays, the negative character in the film. Other key projects in the pipleline are films under the baner of Prem Singh and Krishnabhishek.

What are your other ongoing projects in Hindi and Marathi, in the making?

Yes, quite so. Munnadhari Productions -  Pshadyantra, is being made in Hindi, with Sunny Deol, in special appearance. We just completed the first schedule for this film recently in London. My film, Akhir Kab Tak, a suspense thriller film under the direction of Ajit Varma, is just completed. A film, tentatively titled Kasak, on the relationship between the two nations – India and Pakistan, is in the making. Also, G – street, is under production. I have acted in numerous, TV serials, tele-films, and feature films, in Marathi.  Of late, I enjoyed my work, in Hirwa Chuda –a film, made on the back-drop’s of the infamous London Bomb Blasts, and made by Shashi Prabhu, also known as personal secretary of Hindi film actor & MP Govinda.

What kind of films you are eager to work in ?

As I have been trained as a dancer, from the age of 3, I always have a desire in working in films, specially made keeping dance as the main theme. Films, like – Umrao Jaan, Pakeezah or Mukadar Ka Sikandar, had Rekha ji, superbly bring to life, the characters of these women, with dance as the background. I would love to perform, characters based like characters of these films, with dance as the main backdrop. I am averse to the kind of characters being projected these day on screen, with emphasis more on there body than there acting skills being shown. Hence, I have been very choosy and cautious in selecting  the film offers coming my way.

What are your other likings, besides acting and dance?

I enjoy giving a helping hand to my director, when on sets. Many a times, I even took up to writing the continuity sheets, when not acting on the sets. I have always also  loved the behing the scene jobs, in the entire process of  film making, specially direction. I do make it a point to keep a working hand knowledge of most of the departments of film-making. Even I love designing costumes, and try and design most of my on garments as well. I loving watching cricket, for which, I am ready to even skip a shoot, on a day, a game is being telecast on air.

Iipm Students Hits the Hindi Films – Songs Chartbuster by Fashion.

Hindi Hub Articles

Being an MBA from IIPM…Irfan Siddiqui is more keen in Lyrics Writing…his lastest songs from Fashion has hit the charts…and are Major Hits of Today…

Here is an Interview held with Mr . Irfan Siddiqui  student of IIPM followed as below:-

Your song Mar jaava from Fashion has become popular. But there was no situation in the real sense. Is such a song easier or more difficult to write than a situational number?

It’s both in different ways. I gave them several options for the mukhda. Salim and I worked hard on something that would have an identity of its own and get audience attention because the sequence was going to be so strong visually that no one would be really interested in the song playing in the background. And we have succeeded.

I believe you were a model yourself in college. Did Madhur Bhandarkar, who directed Fashion, know about this?

No. Apart from walking the ramp, I had even choreographed some shows in my college. That was another of my interests. But I could not grow there.

But for someone who has no contacts or mentors within the industry you have made good progress.

I guess I have been lucky, though I have a long way to go. Choreographer Rajiv Goswami and I have been childhood buddies and we would jam and make songs together. I wrote all the songs except Mujhe mere yaar se in his debut album and Salim-Sulaiman arranged it. That’s how I got to know the duo and they called me for Ashayein in Iqbal. Apart from their films Fashion and Chain Kulii Ke Main Kulii I have worked with them in Karo ya maro, the IPL song for the SetMax channel, the first IPL anthem Dil pe le liya, the finale song of Voice Of India and the lead track of Shrradha Pandit’s album Teri Heer. I also wrote the title-track of Rafoo Chakkar – Fun On The Run and about 20 songs for the Hindi dubbed versions of High School Musical and High School Musical 2.

Which are your films to come?

I am writing for Karan Johar’s Rensil D’Silva-directed film starring Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor and all the songs for his Kootchie Kootchie Hota Hai directed by Tarun Mansukhani. I am doing Ken Ghosh’s film with Shahid Kapoor, a song in Mumbai Chakachak that will probably be composed by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Teen Patti with Amitabh Bachchan directed by Leena Yadav, the video made by Sony for the Indian Idol finalists and also the dubbed Hindi songs for Walt Disney Productions’ Camp Rock.

What do you feel about the excessive use of Punjabi and English in today’s songs?

I would not like to follow this trend for the heck of it. Look at Anand Bakshisaab and Gulzarsaab who used Punjabi in a very classy way – I would like to emulate that. I want to make a mark with good songs like Ashayein, which is still loved. Today there are lots of hit songs, but few that really make a mark or have a shelf-life. Genuine gaane hi chal jaate hain and I too would not like to compromise because I give that 101 per cent to each song.

Where Your Traditions Stand?

Hindi Hub Articles

People say that india is one of the fastest growing economies in the world. Some also perceive that india will be the next superpower. But, if you retort in your mind you must have vacillating opinions waving through your mind. Half of the India is run by American firms.BPOs surely have given a surge to unemployment to an extent, but when you ask, how many people are satisfied working in BPOs? Answer will be very few. Indians started to give value to english language more than their mother tongue hindi. If someone speaks in hindi then people mock at him.Now english is imperative to be known and hindi takes the back seat. One of the reasons for it is that most of the multinational companies are from UK or US.

On the flip side, very few people in China speak good english,Still they are far ahead from India if we keep economies aside. They have the belief, they have the mind and they used and proved in front of the whole universe.Whereas, Indians have the mind, but they were sceptical to use it at the world level. 85% of the Indians are serving for multi nationals in IT sector, because there is no other alternative. They are quite ahead in technology if we compare with other parts of the world.Indians labour is going in the pockets of expatriate firms.

What i want to conclude that you can grow with your traditions and language.Only thing is that you must have the belief and the cocksure determination. “Traditions never dies and the value towards them should also never die”.

e-Choupal

Hindi Hub Articles

Introduction

e-Choupal is an initiative of ITC Limited (a large multi business conglomerate in India) to link directly with rural farmers for procurement of agricultural / aquaculture produce like soybeans, wheat, coffee, etc. The company has initiated an e-Choupal effort that places computers with Internet access in rural farming villages; the e-Choupals serve as both a social gathering place for exchange of information (choupal means gathering place in Hindi) and an e-commerce hub.

e-Choupal is a Hindi word which means “village meeting place”. Market is a meeting place where vendors and customers come together to do transactions. e-Choupal is a virtual market place where farmers can transact directly with a processor and can realize better price for their produce. e-Choupal has the advantages of the market but spans very large varieties of vendors and customers. Geographical distances do not restrict participation in the e-Choupal. The main disadvantage of conventional market is that information asymmetry is inherent in the market where as e-Choupal provides for transparent transactions. This enables the participation of smaller as well as larger players. Elimination of some layers of intermediaries allows for larger share of profits to reach the lower end of value chain. The main attractiveness of e-Choupal is that it can be used for connecting large producers/small producers and small users/large users, thereby eliminating the need for hierarchy of brokers. Internet is used as a low transaction cost backbone for communication. Physical delivery of produce to the processor is still done through the existing intermediaries. e-Choupal does not attempt total elimination of intermediaries, as intermediaries are indispensable in economy like India where intermediaries are adding value to the every step of value chain at a low cost. Intermediaries have the expertise in storage, transportation, quality assessment and counter party risk reduction, which are difficult to replicate. e-Choupal provides farmers with all the market information and this helps them to become market oriented. In e-Choupal intermediaries are leveraged but they are disintermediated from the market information flowing to the farmers.

Unique Business Model: e-Choupal

The e-Choupal model has been specifically designed to tackle the challenges posed by the unique features of Indian agriculture, characterized by fragmented farms, weak infrastructure and the involvement of numerous intermediaries, who block critical market information from passing to the farmers and use that information for getting a big margin for themselves. The intermediaries capitalized on the economies of information and economies of physical things, which are tied together in a bundle. Due to this, the farmer does not get the proper price of its product & they continue to live below the poverty line. But e-Choupal sets things in order as it smoothens the flow of information to the farmers by disinter mediating intermediaries from the chain of information flow and at the same time leverages the physical transmission capabilities of the them as they deliver critical value at every link for a very low cost in a weak infrastructure environment. The structure of e-Choupal is shown in figure.

The project e-Choupal is ITC’s unique click & mortar initiative e-Choupal is an ICT (Information and Communications Technologies) platform for carrying out trade at a number of locations. In this, ITC sets up a back-up physical service support at the village level, called Choupal, through Sanchalak: a lead farmer, who acts as the interface between computer and the farmer. ITC accumulates information regarding weather, modern farming practices, and market prices from sources like Meteorological Department, Agri-universities, mandis (regional market) etc., and upload all information on to e-Choupal web site. All information is customized according to local farmers requirements and provided into the local language through computer set up by ITC in Sanchalak’s house. Sanchalak access this information and facilitates its dissemination to farmers. Information regarding weather and scientific farming helps farmers to select the right crop and improve the productivity of their farms. Availability of market information helps farmers to become market oriented. They know what price ITC is quoting and the price prevalent in the local market, thereby helping better price realization for farmers. If farmer decides to sell to ITC, Sanchalak works as the aggregator of small farmers produce to sell them to ITC. Sanchalak also aggregates farmers input purchase orders for various items like seeds, pesticides and places them directly with the suppliers through internet and facilitate supply of high quality farm inputs as well as purchase of farm produce at farmer’s doorstep with the help of intermediaries as shown in figure previously. It can be deciphered that e-Choupal has added critical value to the existing supply chain through innovative application of information technology. ITC-IBD has successfully reached the vastly scattered farming villages of India and facilitated the smooth flow of rich information to them by disintermediating the intermediaries in flow of information. Power of information is working as the catalyst of transformation of the life of farmers by helping them to get improved yields from their farms and better price realization. Usually it is tough to maintain the expanding scale of reach and richness into the products or services but e-Choupal is achieving it easily and we find that overall value chain has been shifted horizontally on the scale of reach and richness. e-Choupal is an ICT platform that facilitates flow of information and knowledge, and supports market transactions on line.

It transmits Information (weather, prices, news), It transfers Knowledge (farm management, risk management) It facilitates sales of Farm Inputs (screened for quality) and It offers the choice of an alternative Output-marketing channel (convenience, lower transaction costs) to the farmer right at his doorstep It is an interlocking network of partnerships (ITC + Met Dept + Universities + Input COs + Sanyojaks, the erstwhile Commission Agents) bringing the “best-inclass” in information, knowledge and inputs.

e-Choupal is, thus, distributed transaction platform that brings together sellers, buyers along with information and service providers. e-choupal is a model with a number of non-conventional characteristics namely:

customer centric capable of being used for many commodities and multiple transactions easily scalable once it is verified uses local talent and local people and develops local leaders can be extended to local as well as global procurers stimulates local entrepreneurs to extend their innovativeness uses all the existing institutions and legal frameworks and many others can join the market as transaction time is low.

Critical Success Factors

The e-Choupal experience highlights that ICT platforms can provide rural connectivity and e-commerce support. These platforms have enormous potential provided they are conceptualized for the specific needs of the community and business. Some of the elements that helped the e-Choupal to work successfully are discussed below:

Comprehensive knowledge of rural markets: Rural markets are both economic and social networks and there is a strong connection between the operation of social and economic transactions. Understanding the operations is vital before the systems are conceptualized. Use of local population, as much as possible helped the network to get the acceptance closely.

Designing a Win-Win transaction model: The success of e-Choupal comes from the condition in which both the farmer and the processor share the benefits coming out of the elimination of middle men and hence  due to timely information availability.

Leveraging the logistics channels: The existing logistics of the rural markets are leveraged but they are not able to exploit the information asymmetry (unlike that in a conventional market). In that sense e-choupal uses the local institutions but eliminates the information asymmetry that they used previously.

Selection of Sanchalak: Both the selection of Sanchalak and the acceptance of Sanchalak by the community are very critical for the success of e-Choupal. ITC used a trial and error method for developing the procedure for selecting Sanchalaks. In the platform terminology Sanchalak is the interface for maintaining the platform. For the farmer the Sanchalak is the e-Choupal. Training and sensitizing him for the crucial role has been the main reason for the acceptance of the Sanchalak by the farmers. Sanchalak, thus, acts as the coordinator of the knowledge community, and a representative of farming community.

Evolving an appropriate user interface: The Technology interface used in rural areas has to be very simple. Interface has to be tried for rural settings and only after its validation it has to be used. Firstly, one has to understand the user pattern and secondly, it has to be tried, tested and validated. For example, farmers do not understand the concept of insurance. e-Choupal evolved a simple interfacing arrangement that a farmer can understand.

Bottom-up model for entrepreneurship: e-Choupal encourages enormous amount of creativity at the local level along with local entrepreneurship stimulation. The farmer and Sanchalak are free to use the e-choupal and develop new uses. e-Choupal unleashes the creative spirit in the rural India.

The Journey of Film in Southall

Hindi Hub Articles

Shooting “The Winter of Love” (formally ‘A Quiet Desperation’) in Southall was paramount to its manifestation.

Without Southall – the film would be meaningless. It was not just the question of the story being played out in the streets of Southall – but enmeshed in it was my long standing relationship with the town.

My connection with films in Southall goes back to the heady days of the three cinema’s on South Road, leading up to the Green starting with Liberty Cinema, with Century in the middle and the Dominion Cinema towards the end. Our journeys to these cinemas were with our parents – larger than life images of Hindi film stars; great movies such as Sholay, Hanste Zakham, and Amar Akbar Anthony played havoc on our imaginations as children. Southall like many small Asian communities throughout Britain created a hub and buzz around Hindi Cinema and made it popular outside of India and brought it to its present day success in Britain and generally in the West – a success that British Asians should be given a full credit for.

With the demise of the cinemas and the rise of video’s that collective viewing soon disappeared along with the closures of the three cinemas – the Dominion Cinema was bought by the Indian Workers Association who renamed it The Dominion Centre. An act of pure charity, the cinema was bought by the IWA with a view that the centre would be funded by the local council and service the entire community regardless of race or gender. As part of the purchase, the IWA in their wisdom demolished a state of the art building and replaced with a monstrosity designed by what can only be described as a creatively deprived architect who created a building without a heart and soul as well as acoustics! But the users and the people of Southall embraced the building as their own and now it operates as the only secular community building in Southall.

Many creative individuals since have emerged from Southall. A key inspirational figure in making a marking on the film and theatre scene was Harwant Bains. And film for a brief moment seemed to have returned to Southall. His ‘Wild West’, shot in 1992 caused a stir amongst the local community as well as nationally. The story is set in Southall where a young Pakistani sees himself as a cowboy and has ambitions of fronting a country and western music band – his dream is to go to Nashville. A zany caper, ‘Wild West’ gave many of us inspiration to create and produce our own films.

Since then a number of documentaries have appeared on television covering various issues around Southall; “A Fearful Silence”, about the work of Southall Black Sisters on domestic violence in Asian communities produced by Azad Productions; Acting our age directed by Gurinder Chadha and a powerful and moving search by Melanie Sykes for a sense of belonging in her Melanie Sykes Southall Stories directed by Fatima Salaria.

Deeply inspirational, Southall has been an example to British Asian communities through out the British Isles and many communities in Europe. My decision to shoot and locate ‘The Winter of Love’ (formally ‘A Quiet Desperation’) in Southall stems directly from a sense of deep belonging to a place that has influenced and shaped my outlook on life.

Southall means many things to many people. Acting as a town near a point of entry Heathrow it has traditionally sheltered all immigrants coming into its borders; Jewish refuges from the second world war; West Indian settlers from the Windrush; Pakistani and Indian settlers in the 50’s and 60’s; Ugandan Asian’s escaping Idi Amin’s regime along with Kenyan’s and Asians and most recently Somalian’s.

Southall’s ability to absorb a diversity of life is a testament to its openness and embracing nature. Perhaps we will see many more stories coming from Southall with a Somalian; Polish, Jewish or Irish slant nestled within universal themes.

Visiting Bill Cooke & Terry Tkachuk website, the Southall Film Studios History Project confirmed its place in the creative history of British film making.

Short Story- I Adjusted Myself

Hindi Hub Articles

101-C-Vikas Colony,

Patiala-Punjab-India-147003.

I adjusted myself ?

It is on record that my school record had got mention in so many registers maintained by he school and even the district administration had given so many certificates and testimonials. Some news papers had given reports that in spite of all the hurdles in my way, I could make my positions. And similar had been my record in college and then in the training institute from where I completed my B.Ed. and then M.Ed. I had got interest in teaching and even my parents realized that I have got my aptitude in teaching, they tried that I should get the line in which I was interested.

It was obligatory for me to shift from the house of my parents to the house of my in laws and therefore, my parents were also preparing me for the house of my in laws and they had been telling me that I shall not be getting the same atmosphere in that house and there are chances that they all may not recognize my qualifications, my achievements and my further desires and they may ask me to work at the house like a domestic servant. Even some of my friends who had been married were not having a good experience of the house of their in laws and they had been telling me that the people in the house of their in laws are not realizing that they are educated girls and therefore, she must be given due place in the house. They told me that the people in the house of in laws are not giving any respect nor they realize that their brides are also like their own daughters.

I myself had seen so many Hindi films and I had noted that the mother in law in each house is the first lady to create all the troubles. She had got her own place and position in the house and she would not like that another lady should come and may take the place which had been occupied by this old lady. She does not want that the love and affection which had been available to her should be divided or shared by some one else. Similarly the sisters in law are also not willing to see that their own brother may be having attraction and devotion towards a new comer in the house. Similar had been the position in each film where the brides already present would not tolerate that some new comer may have a better place in the house. They are protecting their own rights and positions which they could attain because of their own struggle and suffering.

All these situations were very strange for me, but this was a reality of life that every Indian girl shall have to face, because after marriage, it is compulsory here that the bride should join the house of her husband and should spend the remaining part of her life there. I could also understand that after marriage, this house of her parents shall become a strange house for her and she may come here as a guest for some days, but none in the house shall like or tolerate that she may stay here permanently.

I had got relations with so many boys, but none could attain the status of my ‘boy friend’. I was desiring a boy who should be from our religion, from our caste, from our known people, and I was also desiring that the boy should be having proper education, proper training and proper adjustment at work from where he is carrying proper income which he should be able to establish a family and may be able to carry on further responsibilities in life. I wanted to create and establish love affairs, but I did not because, I had got a fear in my mind that ultimately the will of my parents shall function and therefore, the boy should be of their liking and not of my liking.

My friends had been suggesting me some of their relatives and even Meena suggested the name of her own brother who had done MBA and was with an established organization having income in four figures. But I could not like him and I still do not know why I could not like him. From amongst my boy friends, one Rajesh was very near to me and once he had suggested for marriage too. I could not give him suitable answer, because he was not from our caste. The people at my house were not willing to have relations with those who had been declared as backward class by the state itself. I had not got such restrictions, but as I have already stated, I was not in a position to say ‘no’ to my parents.

I was lucky enough when my parents searched a boy who was in the army having the rank of captain. When I utilized my own resources, I came to know that the boy in question had been with me in my college for a year and during this period he had been having some relations with me. When we met to have a talk on the subject, we both met as friends and all present were surprised to note our old relations and contacts. I told that the boy is Rohit and he had been with me in college in the last year of graduation and we both had been having tuition with one lecturer in the subject of Chemistry. Parents from both the sides were happy to note that the new would be couple have relations and they shall be having no difficulty in life.

I informed Rajesh and he tolerated all this because he was having all information about his own caste and about my caste and came out with a conclusion that this relation shall be good and better for me. He wished me good luck and after that date, he never came near to me nor I ever tried to meet him.

On my marriage, the parents of my husband were demanding some dowry, but my husband Rohit was against this dowry system and therefore, he declared that the marriage shall be simple and there shall be no transfer of dowry from the side of my parents. This was a very simple marriage and all present were happy to note this change and all were appreciating my husband Rohit and his parents who accepted the command of their son and did not demand dowry.

In the house I found that Rohit had got one elder brother and one younger brother. The elder brother rattan Chand was running a confectionery shop and was married having one small son. The younger brother Mohit was in college in T.D.C.III year. He had got one sister Meenakshi who was married at another station. My mother in law Parbati was about sixty years and my father in law Khushhal Chan had already retired as Tehsildar. So the family was well set up. I did not care what was in the mind of my mother in law. But she had accepted me without dowry, I had got great respect and regard for this lady. I came to know that she was a graduate from Punjab University and was in service prior to her marriage. I started creating friendship with this old lady because she was the centre around whom the whole family was functioning. I had been showing her all my certificates and testimonials. I had been telling her all my achievements while in school, in college and while in the training institute. I told her that my parents had been handing over all their earnings to me and I had been running the house. I told her that I had been teaching all my younger brothers and sisters at my house and we never engaged a tuition for them. And actually I stated giving tuition to the son of my brother in law. Wife of my brother in law was happy that her son could get a teacher at the house. I started serving all the three elders. I had been taking all care of my mother in law, my father in law, my brother in law and the younger brother in law could come to me and discuss his problems in the college and in his study work.

My sister in law had been with us for some days and now she had gone back to her own in laws. As and when she came here, I started creating friendship with her. I had been taking her to the market and to all her friends whom she wanted to meet. We had been having some purchases and I never forgot that all in her family should get one item each. Once my sister in law said,” Bhabiji, why you are so sweet?” My simple reply was,” You all are very sweet. You all are having all love and regard for me. I am feeling that I am living in my own parents’ house. My father in law is like my own father and he is taking complete care and is always looking at my face noticing that I am happy and I have got no trouble.” My sister in law was not having such days with her in laws, but she wanted to keep his troubles far away from me. Somehow I could initiate talks with her,” Every bride is not lucky like myself. I am thankful to God who selected for me such a family. Your people present in the house have taken me as their own daughter and that is the reason I could adjust myself here without any difficulty. I am nobody to advise your. But still I should tell you something to act upon. You should try to come close to each one and you should make it sure that you would never make a complaint about the behaviour of any one in the house with you. You should start appreciating each one and when your husband comes back from his work place, you should allow him to have talks with his mother, with his father or with any member with whom he wants to have a talk. You should never try to establish that this man who was their man yesterday has become your man and now this man has got no concern with any member in the family. Such a course is the main cause of all the disturbances in the joint family system/” I noticed that my sister in law was listening to all what I had said and I also noticed that she had accepted my advice.

This time I wanted to accompany my sister in law, when she was going back to the house of her in laws. I stayed with her for two days and I noticed her mother in law, her father in law, her brother in law and sister in law, all were happy with me and they thanked me that I had brought back their bride. They offered me so many things when I was coming back and her mother in law passed the last remarks, “ I think you belong to a very good family. I hope you would turn this family like one as your family is. I hope this Meenakshi shall learn a lesson from you and she would remain with us like a permanent member of this family.”

When I was back at my home, all were happy. All received me with open hands and my mother in law took me in her arms and had been giving sweet kisses to me for at least five minutes and then said,” The people who could get a daughter in law like you are the most lucky people. The problems which we had been facing for the last three years has been solved by you.”

My husband was proud of me and said,” For the first time in my life I could see a girl who can act like men in the family. I had got one worry in my mind and now I can believe that my wife shall be solving all the problems attached with my sister. We had been suffering for the last three years because my sister Meenakshi was not well and now we are receiving phone calls from her and she is happy there.” He took me in his arms and we both had been in our bed room and had been having pleasant talks which we never had shared before.

My father in law and my elder brother in law both were happy with me and they decided to give me a new entry in the house and we celebrated new welcome for me on that day. I was given a cake to cut on that date and we all were present to celebrate this occasion. My father in law had a special phone to my father and remained talking to him for five minutes and whatever he said, gave booster to me and such words had been giving me courage to live on and help this family. In fact, I do not know that I belong to another family.

Short Story-reputation of a Woman

Hindi Hub Articles

Reputation of a woman

Dalip Singh Wasan, Advocate.

When I was a child, my mother had been telling me that a woman should keep herself neat and clean and she must earn a good reputation. She also told me that once a woman loses her reputation, she would not be able to re-earn that reputation once again and she would be branded a bad woman around the society in which she is living. She further told me that a woman must marry so that she should get a man to protect her and if her husband dies, she must try to have another man or she should return to the house of her own parents or should live with her sons and she must get their protection. She told me that the men living around the woman are not good people and they shall always be ready to destroy her reputation. Therefore, a woman must try to see that she is not exposed to men.

I had been hearing such speeches from the side of my mother and even my grand mother confirmed these teachings. I had been in school, then in college and I remained in the University for about four years. I joined there as a research scholar and had been doing Ph.D. there. I had been associated with so many boys and some of them were very close to me. Here I could understand the real meaning of the speeches my mother had been delivering to me. I noted that some of the boys were trying to come near to me and when they were near to me they started suggesting to me that we should go out and stay in some hotel for a few days. They were offering that they shall be meeting all the expenses and they shall be keeping everything secret and none shall know about this tour. At this stage I could recall all what my mother had been telling me. If I actually leave the station with some boy and remain absent from the house for some days, the people in the house, her mother, her father, her brothers and sisters shall not tolerate all this and my sisters in law shall be exposing me before the neighbours and even they shall be communicating all these happenings to their parents. And once all this shall come out, I shall be losing all respect and honour in the society in which I live.

In spite of all this I was having a desire in my mind that I should go with one of my boy friends and enjoy life. I was considering myself a modern girl and therefore, I wanted to ignore all the honour of my family and my parents.

I had been seeing Hindi films in which boys and girls had been meeting each other and had been having *** and then the girl had been turning pregnant and then she had been deciding that she would give birth to the child and shall not conduct abortion. But my friend Suneeta was not accepting all my suggestions and she had been telling me, “ It is very easy to look at a Hindi Film and see the girl suffering. But it is very difficult to live such a life. Your father is the Superintending Engineer in the Public Works department, your brother is the District Treasury Officer, your sisters in law are teachers and your mother is still the principal of a higher secondary school. They people have their own status in the society around them and therefore, they shall not be at ease when they shall hear that their daughter had been absent from the house for a few days and had been roaming with a boy at Shimla. So many people from this town shall be present at Shimla and so many people shall be recognizing you and then shall be spreading the whole news to the people who were not present at Shimla. Therefore, you may be modern, but you should not venture on these paths because our society is not so advanced.”

I was not happy with my friend Suneeta and therefore, I ignored her advice. I was reading a news paper in which there had been a news about a divorce. When I read the news, it was about one of my class fellows Ranjana. She had been with a boy friend out of the station for some days and turned pregnant. When she approached that boy to have marriage with her, he had said, “ I shall not marry a pregnant girl. What the people would say. You are a girl and you should be clean. If you could not keep your reputation intact, you are no more member of this respected society. People would not be happy to see that I have married a pregnant girl.” It was in the news paper that she approached the Court and even the court could not direct the boy to have marriage with that girl. Her counsel had suggested that she can claim damages from the boy and when the child is out, he or she would be in a position to get maintenance and the child shall also be eligible to get share in the properties left by the father of the child. This was the news in the paper which brought a clear picture in my mind and therefore, I got that paper and went straight to the boy who was very eager to take me to a hill station and said, “ If at all you are very much interested in me, you should arrange your marriage with me and only then we shall be able to visit a hill station all alone. Otherwise, I would not take such a risk.” On this his simple reply was, “ I was having in my mind only enjoyment which every young man wants at this stage. Marriage is a different question which needs so many aspects to be examined and I am not in a position to decide finally about my marriage.” And this answer from the side of the boy was enough for me to confirm what my mother had been telling me .

Revolt! begins with an analysis of the 2008 economic collapse showing how neoliberal globalization is intensifying capitalism's contradictions resulting in perpetual crises affecting workers.

High Cut-offs Keeps Students Away

Hindi Hub Articles

Contrary to expectations of a huge jump in Delhi University cut-offs across the board, it is only the North Campus colleges which have increased the minimum marks for admission.

Ramjas College got over one lakh applications this year with a large number of 90 percenters among them. And it was very difficult for the college not to raise their cut-off this year. These high cut-offs acted as a safeguard against over subscription of seats.

Another popular college for commerce students, Sri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), has raised the cut-off for BCom (Hons) to 95.25%-98.75% compared to 94.5%-98% last year. In Economics (Hons), this year’s cut-off is 93.5%-96.5% against 92.75%-95.75% last year.

There is a clear rise of 3% each in honours programme in History, Political Science and English at SGTB Khalsa College with the cut-offs for Economics (Hons), BCom programme and BCom (Hons) also registering a 0.5% growth each from last year. The disparity between the cut-offs of North Campus colleges and others is more glaring in science programmes.

The cut-offs may be out but admissions will only start on June 26. No college can refuse admission to any qualifying student on any of the three days scheduled for it— June 26, 27 & 29.

Diwali Story

Hindi Hub Articles

Diwali Festival is celebrated all over India on October. Normally India is having thousands of local festivals according to local culture and traditions. India is truly a diversified country with multiplies languages and different cultures in various parts of India. Since the Indian civilization is one of the oldest and evolved from different parts of India and joined the festivals very different from one place to another.

Diwali is the Universal Festival of India:

If we study the Festivals of India, we can see lot of variations in the festivals from south to north and east to west. In Kerala you can find onam, in Tamilnadu you can find Pongal,Telegu new year in Andhra Pradesh, Pohela Baishakh in Bengal, Baisakhi Festival for Sikhs etc. Almost all of this festival is totally unknown to states than it is celebrating. In addition, we can see the same festival is celebrated in different parts of the country on same day with different legend.  In addition, the celebration will be different. However, the Diwali (Deepavali) is celebrated across the India in every state irrespective of culture and Languages. This makes Deepavali as a universal festival of India.

Deepavali the festival of lights:

Diwali is not the original or correct name of this festival. The correct name of the festival is Deepavali (I think only in Kerala still they use the correct name) and the word Diwali is a short form of Deepavali.Deepam means is the flame of lamp in almost all languages in India. Therefore, as the name suggests on deepavali day the houses will be celebrated with lighted lamps all over India. The temples also will be decorated with lamps and will have a divine look for Diwali. Therefore, as the name suggests we can see on Deepavali day that all houses are decorated with lighted lamps in all over India.Another Tradition is Diwali sweets, which will be prepared and distributed to nears, and dears by every family.

The Story of Diwali:

As normal to other Indian festival diwali also got more than one legend attached to it. As normal in Indian festival diwali also point to Hindu Religion.

Lord Rama returning to Ayodya:-The most famous legend behind the celebrations of Diwali is about Return of Lord Sri Rama (Prince of Ayodya) to Ayodhya after Winning Rama-Ravana war. Lord Ram was staying in forest with his wife Sitadevi for 14 years to full fill his father’s Promise given to one of his wife. At that time The Demon king Ravana of Sri lanka has kidnapped the sitadevi. Therefore, Sri Ramachandra conducted the war with the help of monkey soldiers and won the war. He returned to Ayodhya with his wife Sita and younger brother Lakshmana after completing the promise.

Universal Real Religion

Hindi Hub Articles

not Divide and Separate the peoples in the name of Religion because we have many religions but all the religions refer to the only one God.

Example: For the earthly life, the water is the most important one. We cannot live without water.

The water – The water is the English language.

The Paani – The Paani is the Hindi language.

The Pani – The Pani is the Sourashtra language.

The Thanni – The Thanni is the Tamil language.

The Aqua – The Aqua is the Spanish language.

The Wasser – The Wasser is the German language.

FINAL RESULT:

If the languages are different the name also differs but the absolute meaning will be the same as the water. Similarly we have many religions but all the religions refer to the only one God.

What kind of reform or present action we need in the religion?

Due to the misunderstanding in the religion so far we (the earth people) had shed so many bloods as an ocean till date. The beasts don’t have religion but the human being has the religion for his own civilization purpose. Otherwise we will become again as a beast by what? If it is true and we accept the truth of truth is

a. The religion exists only if the human being exists.

b. The religion is not a device but it is a practical procedures.

c. If a person admitted or enrolled in a medical college means at the moment he is a medical college student, after completing the course successfully he will come out with the degree of the doctor. The degree is certified by the university but after doing service to the people he is recognized by the people or by the society as doctor. This formula is same to the engineers also. Similarly if a man enters to a religion first he is the student of the religion. Now a day we are recognizing a religious man by his religious name but not by his religious perfect practice. If he practices the religious practice thoroughly and completely then only he belongs to that particular religion. The religious people must recognize the man as the religious man. This is just like the religious degree. After getting the religious degree he must come out and do service to the people as doctors and engineers. So service to the people is the religion purpose, the real spiritual purpose. We may know many religions or may follow one religion but the aim is service to the people. Here service means service to all the people not the particular religious people because the god, the Almighty is Omni potent and Omni present everywhere, every human beings, every creatures not in particular human beings or in particular creatures or in particular religion. If you realise the above facts you think yourself why still there is religious fight and blood shedding?

FINAL MANTRA:

God, Religion is to up lift all the beings.

God, Religion is to up lift all spiritual beings’ thoughts.

God, Religion is not to up lift any government body.

God, Religion is not to up lift any Political Individual.

God, Religion is to up lift the universal real peace and freedom only.

MESSAGE:

We have many religions but all the religions refer to only one God, The God for spiritual purpose and not for political purpose. God and Religion loves peace not war, then why you love war In the name of God and religion? WAR means simply against THE GOD and Religion.

You please do not use God and Religion name for money making and political purposes, use only for SPIRITUAL PURPOSE. Then there is no social crisis, no social fight and war. Only Universal real Peace and Freedom exists in ALL HEARTS

You may REALISE THIS AT ONCE, OR YOU MAY TAKE YOUR OWN TIME.

CONVERSION BY COMPULSION IS UNKNOWN TO ME; I AM THE LEAST OF LEASTS OF ALL CREATURES IN THE UNIVERSE.
